I don't know what the protocol is for setting one up but I feel it is badly needed. I live right off Colfax (& Colorado) & am home all day w/ my very young kids...Now that the nice weather is upon us the drug dealers are out & seem to love to do "exchanges" in front of my house. I see it all the time...someone drives up, parks, another car drives up--one person gets in the other car (sometimes they'll drive around the block) & then they go their seperate ways. I've been around enough to know exactly what is going on. I would LOVE to put a sign out on the tree right there where they often park. Additionally I just noticed that it looks like someone tried to break into my house (via basement window) recently. I am home all day most days & can call in suspicious things. I'd just love the signs to back me up & warn them...in a hope to make it less appealing for them to meet up there. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

cp mom:
two in one day! all right!!
I copied your posting to the Block Captain of the 1500 Block of Harrison Street. Perhaps the two of you can talk about this soon. While forwarding your posting, synchronicity happened: I got a phone call from Sergeant Eric Knutson of District 2 Denver Police. He is a good contact for initiating Neighborhood Watch on a block.
Here is Sergeant Knutson's contact information:

My name is Lisa and i am the new block captain for the 1500 blk Harrison. I too witness drug deals everyday and have been calling the police (non-emergency # 720-913-2000) often. They have been great about responding, however as you know, the deals go down rather quickly. Please let me know the best way to contact you and we can discuss this issue further. Thanks!
