SCPNA residents,

Hi Jim, Im wondering if you can send this note around to folks on the email list. An acquaintance of mine who doesnt live in South City Park but happened to be driving down 17th this afternoon found an old Labrador retriever crossing the street at St. Paul. It had no collar or tags so she took it to the Denver Dumb Friends League. It turns out the dog had a microchip; his name is Kona, but the three phone numbers listed on the chip are no longer in service. I am told that he showed no hesitation to jump right into the car of the person who found him, and he was described as very sweet and good-natured. Apparently he has some warts on his face, his teeth are rather ground down and not in very good shape, his coat isnt looking very good, and his toe nails need trimming. I wonder if he belongs to someone in our area. If he belongs to someone in South City Park, please contact me. I can be reached at 303-388-0844 or email me at pknoxpsyd@msn.com. Thank you so much for whatever help you can provide! Patricia Knox

This from Patricia earlier today (next day after the rescue):
No word from anyone yet about Kona, but I talked to the Dumb Friends League this morning and it turns out he is 9 years old – not that terribly old after all. The woman who found him on 17th has signed up to adopt him if the owner isn’t found, and believe me when I say Kona could not have landed closer to heaven in going to this woman’s home! So there will be a good outcome no matter what for Kona… Patricia
